What a luxurious, romantic and unforgettable way to explore the canals of Amsterdam. My boyfriend and I were very last minute in deciding we wanted a boat tour but we were so very lucky that we found this and that it was available!
Flores, our captain, was an absolute delight - we asked him for a low level of narration and to point out only the highlights so we could have our romantic time together. He did this perfectly, and was very witty and friendly from the outset.
We had a beautiful sunny day in mid August so the water was sparkling and we were sat out the back of the boat for the entire journey. I felt like a total princess as the people in the terraces overlooking the canals gawped with jealousy over our stunning little date while we laughed and drank the unlimited wine (for €8 extra pp).
I couldn’t recommend this more, it is more expensive than the over crowded canal tours but if you can I would definitely do it as it is leagues and leagues better.

Great way to see Amsterdam. Our captain was delightful and offered just the right amount of commentary and stories about the things we were seeing. Highly recommend!

We booked a canal cruise with Leemstar whilst in amsterdam with family.
We went for the private cruise as we were a group of 8 and was more cost effective to do it that way and liked the sound of an older smaller boat with a bit more character.
Booking was very easy online and easy to find the departure point.
Our guide was Floris who was really friendly and gave us lots of interesting information about Amsterdam during our cruise.
The boat was lovely and lots of space for the 8 of us.
It has open space at the back and a closed cabin space.
There were blankets for those who needed it.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Really relaxing and informative and a great way to experience some of the canals of amsterdam.
Definitely worth every penny and one of the highlights of our trip to amsterdam.

Leemstar closed boat - 60 minutes - Private canal boat cruise

We had a wonderful, late afternoon, private 60-minute canal boat tour with Arnout, our Captain last week. The weather was perfect, and our cruise was the highlight of our two days in Amsterdam. Months before our arrival, I had searched TripAdvisor for private canal boat cruises, preferring to do a more intimate cruise than the larger, more commercial canal boats. I selected Leemstar based on previous reviews and pictures of the beautiful and comfortable 1928 Saloon boat. We included the optional beverage package. Arnout was a delightful and friendly host and a knowledgeable Captain. He pointed out historical and architectural highlights and points of interest during our cruise. If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience in Amsterdam, I highly recommend a cruise with Leemstar. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful canal cruise experience

We had a private cruise for 6 in the evening and it was wonderful. Excellent sights and conversation with Arnout. The boat is very comfortable and we could either sit outside in the back or inside if it got cold, so had options on seating. Arnout was great about answering questions and providing information about sights along the cruise. Highly recommended!!!
