Atmospheric tour in the dark
MartinS223, 04-12-2022
I've booked the tour in advance via Getyourguide, because it was selling out rapidly. For a reason,as it is very atmospheric although it was freezing cold. But blankets and hot chocolate, with the special shot for those who want some extra warmth, did a very good job.The Captain was Pascal and the tour guide was Valentina, who both did an even better job.
We had a good banter and Valentina ist really knowledgeable about the Light Artwork and their creators, which made the tour worthwhile.
I definately recommend the tour despite the cold temperatures.

We were so lucky with our crew. Rick was a nice capitain with lots of knowledge of the city. Angela, our hostess was very good with photos, drinks, history and anedocts. Her humor is from out of this world. For rhe bosses, give her a raise.
Light festival cruise

Amazing cruise with very nice, funny and energetic guides. Our guides were Tom & Angela, and they both were excellent
What a lovely night…

…..it was. While some the Light Festivals installations were beautiful—-particularly fire on the water and the brilliant unfurling blossom street lights—-it was the lights from the windows of the lovely, lovely old houses in the narrow parts of the canals that was the most wonderful. The staff were kind, helpful and immensely patient with the more tedious among us.
Would highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience! It was a great way to see Amsterdam and the light festival in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Pascal and Valen were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The hot chocolate and blankets were a nice touch too!
Tremenda experiencia!!

Our group loved the tour and the hospitality of Valentina and Bass. They made the experience very interactive and fun. They know their stuff and know how to explain in a fun way. I highly recommend this experience!

Happiest Boat Tour Ever!
aryaduggal, 09-01-2023
Sara and Ed did a wonderful job of touring us around the beautiful city while giving history on the light fixtures and Amsterdam itself. They were such wonderful people and I hope that others can experience their warmth at some point soon!
A warm and glowing experience.

Loved the warm interior of the boat, the entertaining guide and the Hot Chocolate with caramel infused vodka, albeit that if you wanted vodka in your Hot Chocolate it was an extra charge. The light displays were most interesting and unique.
A lovely evening on the water

Delightful, the skipper and his assistant were lovely, fun and informative. The light festival was beautiful and great to see from the boat. We highly recommend it!
Christmas lights
Lorraine B, 12-12-2022
Enjoyed seeing the festive lights on the canals and viewing the more impressive buildings from the water.
Blankets and hot chocolate provided some warmth on a very cold night. The boat was half covered but I’m not sure viewing through the plastic windows would have been very good. We chose to sit in the open as it was a dry night.
Only complaint was it was very difficult to hear the explanations of the lights and artists as the guide had no microphone and no commentary head sets were available.
Great boat trip with a few snagging problems
Richard_M, 05-12-2022
The boat trip was great and very informative but the Viator ticket/booking wasn’t on the operators system. This mean’t it was very embarrassing for us as we was told that our ticket wasn’t valid and we wasn’t on the list. Luckily the guy was very understanding and let us on anyway as he said it wasn’t our fault it was the booking operators.
Questionable
Elaine O, 04-12-2022
Very well organised not many lights unless you include the Christmas trees in the apartment windows.
However we were throughly entertained by a group who were stoned or very drunk so we had an enjoyable trip
Light Festival

The staff on the boat were ok should have offered blankets to every one as it was freezing only had a few available.
The hot chocolate was not the best .
The art works you see was not up to much cannot believe these people were even paid to produce such utter rubbish.
Advertising photo is nothing like you see on the boat.
Not very Christmassy on board
742irism, 13-12-2022
We sat in the open at the back which gave us all excellent views.
It was an extremely cold evening and although a few blankets were offered we had to ask for more, which were provided.
We did not notice any heated pillows where we sat.
Unfortunately, being at the back we could not hear any of the commentary at all.
The Captains boat radio was very loud.
Also we all thought that when ordering the hot chocolate it should have been stated just how much the cost of the shot of rum would cost, as we thought this was quite expensive.
On a festival lights trip last year, with another company at a similar cost, they offered us unlimited mulled wine and played Christmas music which created a lovely atmosphere!
All in all we enjoyed the tour and it was of no fault of the Crewe that the lights were very disappointing.
Could have been soo much more
Philip B, 10-12-2022
Despite the time of year I booked an uncovered boat cruise thinking this would give us the best view of the lights. Admittedly it had rained that day, but not for a few ours before our cruise, I wasn’t surprised that plastic coverings were on parts of boat, however the downside was that it was very difficult to see through. The back of the boat didn’t have any plastic coverings, so they got a great view, but anyone at the front of the boat had a very different experience.
It was also a bit chaotic at the start as they had booked German tourists on an English speaking cruise, it was very fortunate that the captain was able to speak German and could provide a private to them along the way.
